Service Locate is a professional and reliable service line location company specialising in the use of non-invasive electromagnetic detection equipment and methods in locating and identifying underground pipe and cable service lines. Understanding the importance of identifying the underground services prior to excavation, we are dedicated to performing a thorough search every time we are called-out to a job site. Unlike other utility line locating companies, we set ourselves apart from the rest by our determination to provide our clients with the utmost knowledge and understanding of limitations of the underground cable and pipelines within their work scope. We are not reluctant to say, "not every underground service cable and pipeline will be found" or that there are "no guarantees", just to gain a client. Perform a thorough walk-through of scope of work areas and observe visual indications of service lines which may or may not have been noted. Use electromagnetic radio detection equipment to locate and verify all detectable DBYD services as well as privately owned pipelines. Mark-out on the ground, the location of utility services found using water-based coloured marking paint according to the Australian Standard colour-code. Cable Locators

• Cable locators use expensive electromagnetic locating equipment to detect and locate the depth of cables underground within a 97% accuracy range. This allows you to be able to use earth moving equipment to remove most of the soil with confidence, before you dig the small remaining amount by hand.

Pipe Locators

• Pipe locators still use electromagnetic transmitters, but often pipes are made of concrete or pvc, making tracking them with the direct connection method impossible. With over 15 years experience, pipe detectors use what’s called a ‘sonde’ to trace the location and depth of non metallic pipes; again allowing for safer use of earth moving equipment when digging underground.

Cable Locators
